Chilli Con Carne Tong Suei!

Today I brought my friends to Cristang @ Avenue 8, PJ for some pork burgers as today is a Wed-20%-off-all-Pork-Burgers-Day. Yay!

Met at my house and off we went in Elaine's car. Made reservations at 6.15pm and we were punctual to the dot. Well, I thought of going early in case the place is packed since it's a pork burger discount day. Moreover, Putt's class finishes at 5pm everyday. And so...we were the first to arrive. When we left at around 7 ish, there was only another couple who came in. Hmm..okay..it doesn't matter as the food was great and the company was even better!! Well, like how JJ puts it, "Eva booked the whole restaurant for us ok!" ehehehe..*shy shy*

OoOoOo..I'm still totally in love with the Orgasmic Mashed Potatoes even though I had it twice ady! Yum Yum. The bacon bits are to die for, it compliments the dish so well. *Let me make a mental note to put really tiny crispy bacon bits into my salad next time.* If only I had taken some pictures of our dinner. Too bad, I was busy "jutting" JJ and everyone else started poking their forks into the potatoes right after it was served.

For a party of five, we've ordered the following:-

1 Orgasmic Mashed Potatoes
1 Ambilla Curry - nah you ambil-lah! Not...have to pay wan k!
2 sets of P3 burgers
1 Nasi Lemak Goreng

Should have ordered one more dish as I could sense the guys were still hungry. Right? Guys? Okla! It was me!!! I'm hungry ok! Until now I'm still hungry. Go downstairs to fetch Jacobs soon. kekkeke

Highlight of the day

I was poking into the chilli con carne on one piece of dark red thingy when I asked...

Eva: Yerrr, what is this?

Elaine and Putt:  The red bean-lahhh

Eva:. *thinks* Huh?? Red bean? Then..*bulb lights up*

Eva: Ohhhh, kidney beans issit?!?!

JJ: It's kidney beans-lah. If its red bean, it would be called chilli con carne tong suei...

Us: Harrr??!!?! Cannot hear-laaaa...chilli con carne what???

JJ: I said chilli con carne tong suei!!

Us: Huh?!?!?!?! hahahahahhahahahahaha

JJ : *sweat*

That, my friends, is the perfect ending to the perfect dinner.

Wait..muaks muaks to my dear too!

Memories of people

I came across this story in one of the millions of forwarded emails a few years back. Recently, it was 'shared' by one of my friends at FB which I saw and it reminded me why I liked it in the first place. Here it goes:-

(video was removed by youtube due to copyright issues)

This video got me thinking about people who has crossed my path and made a difference, oh well, maybe just people who left a mark during my journey. I would like to write about them here because I might forget about them one day.

This post would be about my friends that I have made along the way. BUT...I am definitely thankful to my family members and God, without which I would not have existed or be who I am today. Muakks muakkss...

Let's make a list, shall we?

From my pre-kindergarten days...

My kind neighbours have a son several years elder than I am, whom my sisters and I nicknamed Tommyboy. We often played together outside our homes despite being separated by the wire fences, as we stayed beside each other. I was 4-5 years old I think. One day, he offered us his share of M&M's. I never had any till then as my mom would restrict sweets or chocolates, considered as 'junk-food', especially colourful ones too, for fear that our teeth would "rosak". That was the best colourful-tasting sweets or rather, chocolates that I have ever sunk my teeth unto, at least I thought so then. Yummm, I am craving for it as I write this post too. :D Hmm, he may have triggered my love affair with chocolates. :D Oh well, Tommyboy's family moved away soon after to Shah Alam, if I am not mistaken. Our families did keep in touch for a while, at least until the first CNY they were away where my dad drove us to their new home and paid them a visit. After that, I do not have any recollection of seeing them anymore.

Kindergarten begins @ Puei Chee Kindergarten, Section 17 PJ...

Year 1988
There is this one sweet girl who was fair and always tied half her hair up in 2 little ponytails. I remembered during the first day of school, when her dad looked away, I would whisper in her ears as fast as I could, "Psst, want to make friends?" She did not respond the first time and I thought I murmured it too softly. And I did it again, once her dad looked away. Well, she ignored me for the second time too. Oh well, I gave up already. I just sat there observing all the strange little kids' faces. Some had their parents by their side, some were alone, just like me. My dad brought me to school and looked at me from the back of the class, just like the rest of the parents, for a good 20 minutes or so. He gave me a thumbs-up sign and I nodded to respond. And he finally waved and walked away. He must have thought I was doing okay since I did not turn back a lot of times to look at him. I remembered thinking that I should not do that for fear that he might not leave as I know he had to work. When he has left, I remembered feeling a little sad, but not sad enough to wail aloud. And I was proud of myself! :D

Okay, back to the ponytail girl. Hmm, actually, I could not remember her name and I feel bad about it. If only I still do, I could have googled her up in hopes of finding her. Haiihh.. Anyway, before the class ends, my chubby class teacher came to me and explained that the girl beside me is almost deaf, with only one of her ears functioning, but only at a small percentage. She asked if I wanted to switch places. This is also because I would have to look out for her and kind-of 'protect' her. I told her I was okay. And I think they told my parents afterwards and they were fine if I am fine with it.

Hence, our friendship blossomed till the point that she would only sit and/or play with me. I think I used a lot of hand gestures. Well, we were not allowed to talk during class anyway, hence, we used a lot of facial expressions too. There were 3 incidences which I remembered vividly. One day we were playing with our sling bags and her hearing aid came off because the handle of the bag pushed it out as she was taking off the bag from her shoulders. She panicked and nudged me. I did not see as I was on the other side of her. She turned and pointed it to me. I panicked too. But somehow I put it back into place and it was not hanging out anymore. Then she and I both "Phewww-ed". :D

Another time was when I was away for the first half of the class, as I, along with a few other kids from the same kindergarten was brought to Jaya's McDonalds for a Children's Colouring Contest. We had free food too :D Upon returning, my chubby class teacher told me she was crying and was being bullied by this small devil in class. Something along the lines of, some kid just came back from a holiday from abroad had brought the class a packet of jelly beans. The little devil was given a dark-coloured one I think. She licked it and wiped the colouring everywhere, including on my little ponytail friend. Well, I remembered feeling that everyone was relieved when I returned because she calmed down after sitting beside me. An angel already at the age of six! *Gleams*

The last incident happened after our graduation from kindergarten. Her dad brought her to my home, at my backyard one day. It was months after our last class together. However, she kept hiding behind her dad. I think she is not used to my company anymore, or maybe she has just forgotten about me. Sad right?

Despite the sad ending, I really want to meet her once more. If only I know how to find her...

I managed to find my kindergarten picture. Have a look..

Primary school days @ SRK Taman SEA, SS2...

Year 1989-1994
I could not remember where I first met this friend of mine, Mun Yee as we were boarding the same school bus and we were also in the same school. Later did I know that she was also from the same kindergarten as I was, and we went to the same secondary school together too. :D I remembered both of us acknowledging, when we were 17 years old, that we have known each other for 10 years already. How many friends you would have known for so long then? Quite little I suppose.

Anyway, we were in the same bus for a long time. We played together, along with my second sis and her elder sis too while waiting for the school bus to arrive. She stayed a few roads away from my home and I used to carpool with her during the secondary school days too. Well, we drifted apart after I have started college and university. However, she is still in my friends list in FB. I would definitely invite her and her family to my wedding as her mom is such a nice lady.

Then came Standard 4 whom I befriended generous friends by the names of Mei Ping and Szin-Yi. I remembered MP was my bestest friend during that year. The 3 of us would play together often as they live on the road next to the school. Somehow, we were allocated into different classes when I proceeded to Standard 5. However, all of us became Scouts and we would meet during every other Saturdays at meetings.

Then came Standard 5, where I got to know dear Angeline and Standard 6 where I befriended sweet Han Yie as well. Han Yie was my best friend then. I used to go to her house most of the evenings while I wait for my dad to come pick me up from school. Her mom would make us western-style lunch where I got to know that she loves ketchup soOoOO much. And that's when I knew I hated all sour stuffs!!! :D We stayed in contact through-out our secondary years but drifted apart when college starts....again. Haha..she is still my friend at FB though.

Secondary @ SMK Damansara Jaya @ SS22 and after...

Year 1995 and beyond...
During Form 1-3, Gladys was my soul-mate and Yi Chin was my best friend in Form 4 and 5. And now, the 3 of us do hang-out occasionally. As such, I should not feature them a lot in this post as I may as well blog about meeting them during our catch-up (a.k.a. gossip) sessions in the future or during their wedding days. *winks* tee hee.. Gladys's big day would be at 26 December 2009. Can't wait to see her in her gown. Hope I will get to take loads of pictures of her, together with me and another BK, as always!

The following quote, I know I can relate to it as it was the case between Gladys and me and also Yi Chin and me in the past. Well, I know we have not been in constant contact due to our busy working lives, however, deep down, I know they were, and still am, my life-long pals! :D

He answered, "New 1 right?" :S

Friday night is here and I'm excited. I get to dress-up nicely and enjoy dinner with my fiancee! :D I was at home the whole week studying and I really needed an excuse to go out. So, I bathed and put on make-up. I was thinking of what to wear. And as usual, I have nothing to wear!! Thought I'd be a bit more creative and combined 2 blouses to be worn together..and I thought it looked okay!

And he arrived..and I asked, "Do you like my blouse?" And he answered, "Yup, its nice. New 1 right?"

Tahh Dah! Yes, that's my fiancee...and I love him dearly. Muakksss

Before my day ends (yes, I know its really late now), here's a cute video that would make me smile..all the time!! Cheers. :D

..and I hear the school bus go wRoOoOmmMmm..

Yep, the school bus passes by my house at this instance. My brains couldn't take it any longer. Off to my bed for some sleep before continuing my journey tomorrow later in the day.

..and for the non-nocturnals peeps, unlike me *ahem ahem*, Good Morning!! Hope your day will be full of surprises, pleasant ones of course.

Burning burning eyes of mine

Why do my eyes burn when I'm in front of my laptop wearing my spectacles? This normally doesn't happen if I had my contact lenses on. I think it is a sign that my specs power is too low..hahah.. Hmmmm.. **ponders** most likely it because I bought the specs when I was in 2nd year uni.. :P ..that would be in 2004/05. Gosh! Almost 5 years ago!!

Okla..will eventually get a new one...shall wait for my bonus..hopefully its enough for a trendy looking one..haihh..let's hope shall we? **crossing fingers**

Aside from my burning eye, i should start burning midnight oil...gambate!! And to all my dear friends who have exams this coming November 2009. All the best. Muakks muakks..

Before I sign out, here's a song that I like recently..

Good night people..muakksss
